So, I'm reading the minutes from the HR Officers' meetings that I missed. Apparently there was a rather lively discussion about the process for adoption leave since "it's not a statutory leave like maternity is." *jaw drops*

Seriously, they actually wrote in the minutes "This is on hold for the present time until the information can be tracked down out of Anna’s files."

Human Resource Officers. Seriously.

You know, I never noticed what a bunch of HR idiots I work with. Of course adoption is a statutory leave! And you don't have to wait to go through my files. All legislation is available free on-line. And if it's too hard to wade through the legalese, the Ontario Ministry of Labour has fact sheets on every area of the Employment Standards Act written for the average Joe on their website.
